We guarantee that all software applied to your vehicle will remain trouble free for as long as you own the vehicle. We retain a copy of your vehicles original ECU calibration so can put it back to standard settings at a later date if required although we may charge a small fee to do this. (Generally around £30). This is ideal if you are selling the vehicle or returning it for dealer warranty work. This applies to software only.
You, the vehicle owner agrees that your vehicle has been serviced and maintained in accordance with your manufacturers guidelines. This includes but is not limited to: Timing belt/chain replacement intervals, filter and fluid replacement. FastMaps Remapping accepts no liability for loss or mechanical failure of your vehicle unless caused by defective software.
You, the vehicle owner can confirm your vehicle is currently insured, taxed/licensed and has a valid MOT certificate if required by road traffic law.
You, the vehicle owner accept and understand that whilst remapping is generally safe for vehicles in a well maintained condition that remapping your vehicle does increase the stress and strain places on all items of chassis, drivetrain and engine systems. This is particularly important with vehicles of a higher mileage and you as the vehicle owner must make the informed decision if this is a suitable product/service for you and your vehicle. Whilst we always aim to tune sensibly and stay within the safe parameters of your vehicle the deciding factor is always mechanical tolerance.
Our software warranty is on a Return-To-Base basis meaning you will be required to bring the vehicle to us. Any tampering or adjustment of the software immediately voids this warranty unless undertaken by the vehicles manufacturer (OEM) dealer. Any faults must be reported as soon as possible and we will undertake repairs/adjustments within 7 days of us confirming the fault. Charges will apply to vehicles that have had hardware or software modified after tuning or where the vehicle is suffering from a mechanical/electronic fault.

Software Vs Hardware faults explained - We are often asked to explain the difference between hardware and software faults as follows:
High mileage vehicles - Whilst we do undertake remapping on high mileage vehicles we would strongly urge you to read and agree to the previous statements. We class high mileage as anything over 100,000 miles regardless of the age of the vehicle. This is particularly prevalent with German prestige/premium vehicles as often people buy this at high mileage due to the affordability of the purchase price when new but please note asking us to remap your 200,000 miles VW Golf Diesel may come at a cost to longevity which you as the vehicles owner fully accept (we are often asked to remap vehicles such as the one mentioned previously)
DPF/EGR/ADBLUE and emissions tampering or delete software - It is illegal to operate a vehicle on the road that does not meet the emissions standards it was designed to meet. Operating a vehicle on the road in the UK that has had emissions systems tampered with or deleted can carry large fines of up to several thousand pounds. Despite this fact it is still a popular service that customers request. We actually strongly advise customers to avoid the removal or tampering with emissions systems and actively encourage any faults are correctly repaired leaving these systems in place. If you wish to go ahead with removal of these systems FastMaps Remapping only provide software deletion - we will not physically remove any emissions systems ourselves, you must have this done prior to presentation of the vehicle to us. Requesting emissions system delete software constitutes acceptance and full understanding of the relevant UK laws and rules and we will not accept any liability should your vehicle become impounded/seized due to breaking these laws. Some software solutions are experimental in nature and may require multiple attempts to achieve success. For remote tuning or postal service or hand delivered/colleced ECUs you may also be required to undertake the necessary software adaptations and resets BEFORE any software adjustments are made. This includes, but is not limited to: DPF Resets, Adblue Resets, EGR Resets or any other reset/coding requirement. If this is not done its likely the software solution will not work as intended and you will incur additional cost.
Risks and Complications - Remapping is generally straightforward, however the process involves editing software and "flashing" the ECU of a vehicle. Occasionally a fault may occur whereby the ECU becomes "Bricked" and will no longer function. We will do everything reasonably practical to avoid this scenario however as this is an inherent risk we will not be liable for additional costs or time delay as a result of this. It may be necessary for a replacement unit to be sourced from the vehicles main dealer. Other complications may occur if the ECU is required t be worked on in "Bench" or "Boot Mode", where an ECU is required to be opened the owner of the vehicle accepts the possibility of hardware damage or failure. This applies to all ECUs sent to us via Post, via hand delivery or collection and also when the vehicle is presented to us. We are not able to offer any warranty or guarantee in regards to water ingress.
Pop and Bang/Crackle/Burble - These types of file look and sound appealing however they do place increased forces on key components of the vehicle and in a worst case scenario can create a fire hazard. Requesting this type of software removes all liability for damage of any kind to yourself, your vehicle and third party property from FastMaps Remapping. Whilst we do love the pantomime these software adjustments can create we will always urge you to consider longevity of the vehicle and advise you accordingly. If you wish to go ahead you have made an informed decision and accept the outcomes.
Speed limiter removal - Removal of speed limiters on certain vehicles is permitted and of course we urge all drivers to abide by all road speed limits set by law. We reserve the right o ask for proof that you are attending a track day or are visiting a country with higher speed limits than the UK to allow us to increase the top speed of your vehicle. And don't forget to always wear your seatbelt ;)
